I love this story!

Sweet!

What amazes me is that most of his 80 students attend the help sessions.

This is super cool. I love how the baby looks like she’s paying attention lol!

One of the most powerful things I remember witnessing in college was my sophomore biology teacher bringing her baby to class with her sometimes. At the time I had begun to toy with the idea of getting a PhD and becoming a professor, and I remember being it was a great example of how a woman could be both a mother and a researcher/professor.

Times have changed.

My husband once brought our baby to teach his class. I have Menier’s Disease (extreme vertigo - when it strikes it’s so bad I can’t even move my head) and suffered sudden attack right before his class. It was too short a notice to find a sitter – and he didn’t want to cancel class since it was close to exam time. So there he was, with an 8 month old in his arms, perfectly happy with her bottle and pacifier. One student took a picture and sent it to us. Cute.

Except later we found out a couple students complained to the department; they thought it was unprofessional. He also had the worst ever student evaluations in that class.

Not a happy memory,

I think this is a charming story. Sorry your H’s students were such sourpusses, @katliamom.
