Physics regular vs. Physics honors

I'm a sophomore in high school, and I'm planning to drop Spanish 4 and switch to physics instead. My courses for next year look like this:
AP Chemistry
AP English
AP Psychology
AP US History
Journalism 3
Pre-calc Honors

Should I take physics regular or honors? I've been taking honor classes during my high school career, and I've been getting a B in my honors classes. Since I have all these honor classes, should I take regular? Or should I stick with what I've been doing and continue taking honors?

If you think you can handle it, go for honors! You will probably learn more in honors and it will look better on your college app. I’m just like you taking five AP’s and all my friends think I’m crazy, but I think of you are comfortable with a challenge take honors! Hope this isn’t too late of a post! Good luck!!

And as an extra note, AP U.S. is a lot of work for just one class- lots of reading and memorizing facts. But don’t let that scare you, because I took 3 AP classes this year as a junior ( U.S. History, English Lit., and Microeconomics) along with two accelerated honors classes (Precalculus and Latin) and two honors science classes ( Chemistry and Physics) and I achieved straight A’s all year. It can be done!!!

Don’t take honors physics just because it’ll look good when you can’t handle it. It looks like you have a pretty challenging schedule next year, so choose wisely. Any physics course taken in high school looks pretty good to colleges. Good luck.

Yeah I don’t suggest you drop Spanish. Most top colleges like to see four years of a foreign language.
And besides, you’re already taking AP Chem, so doubling up on sciences may be overwhelming. Especially since you say you have a record of earning Bs in honors classes (not that Bs are bad), your four APs may be a lot to handle on their own.

I’m assuming you’re a rising sophomore, although the classes you’ve listed seem to be associated with junior year, especially AP English Lang and APUSH. If you actually are a rising sophomore, my above recommendation still holds.

Conclusion: Keep Spanish 4, take Physics junior or senior year (you can decide on whether you want to take honors or regular after you experience the course load of four APs this coming year)

Good luck!

Don’t drop Spanish. Take Physics next year.
