Physics requirements

Hey all, I was looking at the Mcgill University and UBC engineering faculty requirements and saw that physics was actually a requirement. I actually took IB Chemistry SL and IB Biology HL instead of physics so I wanted to know if this automatically exempts me from admission.
I also wanted to know about US universities. They dont say that I need grade 11 physics but just 1 unit of physics and 3 units of science. I actually took physics in grade 9 and 10 but not IB Physics.

So does not taking physics exempt me from most engineering schools in US and canada?

no. of course it doesnt. IB students follow different curriculum than most US high school students. colleges take that into consideration.

however, if u are asking to major in a physics related field or attend an engineering school then you chances might be slightly at a disadvantage to the person who did take physics in school.

bump bump bump please!!!

bump10char

I know that UBC engineering requires grade 11 physics (Whether that's AP, IB, or regular doesn't matter). On the other hand, I don't even know if Mcgill has engineering. If it does, it's not as good as some other Canadian engineering schools.

I see i see. So does this requirement automatically exempt from admission into UBC engineering?

All Canadian engineering schools are pretty much equivalent especially at the undergrad level. McGill and UBC definitely enjoy a good reputation I'd say in similar fields in engineering. I also suggest Waterloo and UofT.
