I'm going to be taking this in June after I take AP Physics B and I was wondering what materials I should get to study for it; I want an 800. I know there are some parts of the test that aren't usually in physics classes so I was wondering if there was a textbook that I should pick up to read about those concepts and do some practice problems. From what I have gathered the test is largely conceptual but I want to pretty much guarantee myself an 800 on it and I would really like to know what I should study/what materials I should study. Thanks!

If you’re confident on a 5 for AP Physics B, 800 on SAT subject test Physics would be almost a guarantee.

There’s not a lot of outside knowledge for SAT Physics, though there would be a lot of deriving formulas and drawing connections between multiple factors (eg. free-fall to magnetism, pressure to velocity).

You can miss about 15 points before you drop below 800 (that’s a 60/75 for the raw score). Try Barrons and Princeton Review. Barrons is more difficult than the test, but will help train you for the trickiest SAT Physics. Princeton Review is very accurate with regards to SAT Physics.

Thanks for the help!

If you can get an 800 on SAT II physics, you won’t need to study. If you need to study, you won’t get it.
