Physics SAT II self-study

I'm going to be a senior this coming school year and will take the Physics SAT II test in October or November.

I want to know how hard to study, what to study, and if to study at all (is it worth it, basically). I've never taken Physics (except for 7th/8th grade Intro-type courses which weren't much). Also, would Sparknotes be a good place to study from, and is it sufficient by it self.

I'm shooting for the 800, but will be content with a mid-700 (~750ish).

Thanks for your input. =)

Hey, I am self-studying right now!
I am using Sparknotes, which I think is quite good.
They sometimes make really stupid mistakes in their example questions.
But all in all, the explanations are very convenient and easy to understand.

In addition to Sparknotes, I use this book:
[Amazon.com: Cracking the SAT Physics Subject Test, 2011-2012 Edition (College Test Preparation) (9780375428135): Princeton Review: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Cracking-Physics-Subject-2011-2012-Preparation/dp/0375428135/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1310879435&sr=8-1)

From what I read, this book is considered to have the best explanations for the different topics on the SAT II Physics and also the practice tests are approximately at the same difficulty level as the real test.

So, I am doing the following:
I learn the topics in the order according to Sparknotes’ table of contents. Before I finish a paragraph I skim the PR book to make sure that I cover any additional contents/problems/examples.
This works quite well so far. Sometimes the PR book goes more into detail with certain topics and sometimes Sparknotes does .

I am also shooting for that 800 and this way I make sure that I am very well prepared by covering everything which might appear on the SAT II.

I hope that helped.

Thanks for the info…and yes, Sparknotes can make serious blunders (I encountered dozes in the Math II part) but hopefully it won’t serve to confuse us.

I probably should invest in a study book, but I’m just not sure if I will end up taking it (depending on how well I can expect to do). We’ll see…

Anyways thanks again and good luck! =)

Self Studied everything except Springs, Motion in 2 &3 dimensions, & collisions. I used princeton review, referred to khanacademy.org & sparknotes when a topic wasn’t clear. I practiced using the 2 released Physics subject tests & Princeton review’s practice test.
I ended up getting a 760.
Perhaps I will retake after AP Physics, since I’m going to be taking Chem & USH anyways.
