I'm ridiculously upset because I got a 740 on a practice test the night before AND finished early, and my dad is a physics teacher, and I got a 610 on the actual test, I seriously almost died, especially since my average in AP Physics is always a 95 without extra credit. I don't understand how my score could drop so much, is there a way to get it regraded?

Sorry for my run-un sentence; I just get really upset when I think about it.

I feel your agony!
Stupid unrealistic SAT II's!!
I got a 600 in Bio when I got A's in AP Bio last year and also passed the AP test with a 3!!
JUST RETAKE thats really the only option!
WEll GOOD LUCK!AND PLZ WISH ME LUCK AS WELL when I retake that Bio test in November!!

Sometimes the courses don't cover all the material on the SATII's--eg my math courses--so you probably have to end up learning a good deal for the first time from a test prep book...Good practice tests are the Barrons ones...they are extremely unrealistic, in that they are harder than the real test....so if you do well on those...and really focus on retaking it....you might be fine with a very high score....

I feel like I did get all the material covered. I honestly thought I would get at least a 700 b/c of the easy scale and my test the night before. I think I took the test either from Princeton Review or Barrons. Possibly, I had issues with the pencil I used. How can I get it rescored, b/c I looked on the site and couldn't find anything. Also, I really doubt its a good idea for me to take it again lol, I'm praying I got a 4 on the AP test, I'm just scared that this is a hint that I only got a 3. Either way, if I take say, Math I, and get a 700 something (I'll be took the first half of AP Calc AB) do I have to share my physics score with the college?

Well...I'm pretty sure you can't prevent your scores from being sent at this point...but since colleges usually look at two subject tests if any....if you do extremely well on two others it really isn't going to matter what you got on that physics one--from what I've seen from stats on admissions thread.........

I know it is possible to get your sats rescored....hundreds do it....though I'm thinking you'll have to just email collegeboard with your request.....

Hey, I feel ya. Same... exact... score. 610 physics, when I thought I had scored a high 600 after testing. But noooo, the curve had to demolish me. I omitted like half, too, cuz I didn't finish on time and couldn't go back to fill in ones I skipped earlier. So yes, I am in the same boat. I'm going to retake physics or a different subject test in the fall, and I will aim for a 670 or better. If you dont make a 700 + on the next round, it's not a big deal. If your other two scores are relatively good (750+, two 750s in my case), then chances are they will not think too highly of your third. Plus, the schools I'm going to only recommend subject tests but don't require them.

i only took a practice one with my dad, then a timed one alone (getting a 740) the night before, but otherwise my other SAT II scores are sucky (610 World History & 680 on US) - but i dont think the schools i want to go to really require an SAT II - im not completely sure but i doubt it, either way, idk if i have time to take it again, im probably going to take the ACT & the SAT for the second time so idk if theres time in between there and filling out applications to take one, is there? if i take one, ill prob take math I cuz im going to be in AP Calculus and I usually break 700 on SAT math practice tests

it irritates me tho, cuz my SAT grades don't compare to my class averages (which are basically 95 & above in AP, i had a 100 in AP Physics one quarter)

maybe cuz the AP classes at your school are fairly easy compare to other schools?

at my school an A in an AP class will probably get you 5
B will get you mostly 4 but also 5 if it's calc or stats
C will get 3-4 ish

you can get a lot more wrong on the AP test and still get a 5... all my friends that used PR got 800.
maybe you should have studied more instead of counting on physics AP cuz they can test different materials
for example APUSH is more cause and effect, while SAT 2 US history is more factual

i think physics is a little easy compared to other schools, i mean not the tests themselves but the scaling, and there's also extra credit available
