Any opinions if one is significantly better than the other for a physics major?

Physics Help and Math Help - Physics Forums

Go there and ask - it's another forum that I visit and post in regularly. There are some pretty smart people there.

I vote for NYU, Stevens is really an Engineering school. If they both cost similar, I would goto NYU, far better reputation wherever you go, and you'll also have more flexibility if you choose to change your major, since NYU is good in a number of things.

undefined are there any forums like that for engineers that are that active? I mean this is good but I want something with more students.

There are a lot of students on that forum, but I can't say I know of any other. Most are physics, but there are tons of engineering students (more graduate than undergrad).

If you actually want advice from real life engineers, this may be a good choice: Eng-Tips Forums

Is there anything I can help you with? I'm a junior EE major.

I heard from many a prior stevens student (now transferred into Cooper Union) that grades are "handed out" at Stevens and that real learning seldom takes place.

IMO, visit both schools, departments, and the professors and then make a decision!

i would say NYU.........it is a much better school.........with a better reputation.....

I would say: Visit both schools and meet the professors.........I've visited both the schools before...........

And I gotta say: NYU has many options, resources, and is a vibrant campus altogether.....Stevens, on the other hand, is educationally good, but it lacks a social life.....

Also, after graduating from NYU, you may have a better chance of finding a job.....because NYU has more connections than Stevens, especially because it is in NYC....

I would say NYU as well, much better school.

NYU has no campus tho

it might not have a campus........but it has the resources that every college should have.......and the surrounding environment is exciting...

Stevens...on the other hand....does have a campus....however, a very boring one...

Nyu's reputation is enough to convince me to go there tho.

if you go to NYU you will probably witness the NYU/PolyTech merger, your degree should be pretty valuable after that.
