Hey, I'm looking for an admission in a 7-year medical program, and I'm trying to figure out which SAT II's I'd like to take. I've already taken Math II and scored a 700, taken Bio M and scored a 580(and yes, i'll be taking that again, and hopefully score better), and I want to take a third. I'm debating on whether I should take chem or physics? I'm taking an honors level in both classes right now, but still not sure as to which one I would score better in...anyone help?

I wouldn’t recommend taking either w/honors, wait until you take the AP course, then you’ll be prepared w/o additional study beyond what you do for the AP test. It doesn’t matter which one (unless a program specifies one), take the one you feel you’ll do the best in.

Was that what you did w/the Bio Subject tests, take it after an Honors class, not the AP?

well, the problem is that our school offers very limited AP classes. So, we don’t have AP Bio, AP Physics, Chem, any of it. So, the honors courses were the highest degree of difficulty that I could get at. We only have AP Calc, APUSH, AP World, and AP Gov

That’s tough, it means you need to do some self-study before taking the tests since H will not cover all of the material.

Unless a BA/MD program has a requirement for one of the Subject tests, I still say to take the one you feel most confident about.

okay, thank you! Yeah, I knew either way I’d have to do a lot of studying on my own, I just wanted to pick the safer one. I’ll probably end up going with chemistry and get some extra help from my teachers. Thanks again!
