physics vs. engineering

Hi everybody,

How does a physics major differ from an engineering major (mechanical, electrical, etc)?

physics is theoretical -- why is some physical phenomenon the way it is? engineering is applied -- using the rules of physics, math, etc. let's build something useful.

Oh, I was thinking more about how the actual classes differ.. like what engineering majors learn/do in class that is different from what physics majors learn/do.

Is it "easier" (less competitive, not so pressured..)

THanks though!
