Physics without Calc 1?

Actually, I think you are right. My son, a Geology major, is taking Physics this semester with a new edition of “Halliday and Resnick’s Fundamentals of Physics”. I think the author of this new edition of the book is Jerle Walker. I took a look at the book last night and it is certainly different from the book I used in the 1980s but still retains some of the examples and problems from the original. Even though the new book is authored by Dr. Walker he based it on the text written by Halliday and Resnick and kept their names because their book has been one of the most widely used and well known Introductory Physics texts in the country since the 1970s.
