<p>So what are the differences between 117 and 197?</p>

<p>I'm being psychotic and looking at scheduling right now (even though I can't register until August), and it looks like I can't possibly take 117 because every other class I want/need to take is in the same time slot..... and 197 is all but full (beg my way in?)<br>
I can't be the only one that's going to have this problem...</p>

<p>They will open 197 up with more spots once the freshman start registering. They set the number small at first to keep all the upperclassmen from taking all of the seats. 197 is technically "honors" physics, but the professors who teach that class are much better than 117 and most people have found 197 to be much easier for this reason.</p>
