<p>I read in some other posts that physiology is the best reccomendation for prospective medical students. But the only major my school (UF) has closest to physiology is "Applied Physiology and Kinesiology", which is mainly focused on preparing students for athletic/fitness specialties. So, is this a good reccomendation? if not then what else?</p>

<p>Would it be okay to do pre-pharmacy has a back-up, but still do pre-med/dental?</p>

<p>I've never read from any medical schools/admissions that they recommend that you pursue a human physiology major as a 'best bet' for medical school prep. In fact, I have read--you can find this on UCLA med's prospective student site--that they recommend you not to take anatomy courses (this being if it is not a required course in your major). Anyway, I am a human phys major, and I think I am going to absolutely love it (though it is one of the hardest majors at my school). Be a physiology major if that is want fascinates you, not because it will prep you for medical school/give you an admissions advantage (because it probably won't).</p>

<p>As cobrien has said, some med schools prefer that you do not take classes like anatomy and physiology in your undergrad school.</p>
