pianists are cool.....

so who's sending a supplemetal cd this year (to non-conservatory universities)? what are you going to put on it?

so far, i think i'm going to play ravel's ondine from gaspard de la nuit, liebermann gargoyles, and either beethoven sonata op.110 mvmt.I/rachmaninoff etude tableau op.39 no. 3

Are you using Garage Band or something? I'm thinking about a CD as well, but I have a bad computer.

no, actually i'm really lucky, my teacher has his own recording studio type thing, so he will be helping me record/compile

Does the quality in a studio really make that much of a difference? I'm thinking about just getting a good quality microphone and record it myself.

What does this have anything to do with undergraduate admissions?

To show them our skills of course. Most musicians practice many hours a day, balancing schoolwork and other ECs on top of that. Sending in a CD is like writing another essay: it shows them who we are.

I was about to send in a supplemental CD but I didn't have proper recording equipment or that great of a piano so I didn't. Your program sounds good. Might not need so many pieces though since they don't want so many pieces I don't think.

If the music is "bad", don't send it though.

I think I will. :] Not sure how to record it. What recorders or microphones are you guys using?

Im sending in a CD. I'm sending in either chopin (ballade or prelude), and probably a debussy prelude or a beethoven sonata. not quite sure
