Piano prodigies

I know tons of CCers play the piano (especially since so many are Asian), but are there any really great pianists here? If so, what advice do you have?

I'm not a prodigy, in fact, I don't even play the Pie-an-oh

I used to play. I quit even before I got to playing "London Bridge is Falling Down". I hated practicing.

I play, not necessarily a prodigy though. PRACTICE AND THE METRONOME ARE YOUR FRIENDS.
Also, go to www.pianoworld.com for help.

I play, but I'm not a prodigy. I just like playing the piano.

I totally agree with the use of the metronome. I get carried away sometimes.

yea but the metronomes r never loud or fast enough... so i put on the metronome in a rythm program on my comp and turn the bass on my speakers ALL the way up

Fast enough? They're supposed to keep you in tempo and not go any faster or slower. I turn it up as well (it is kind of hard to hear it).

metronomes are for the weak.

No, metronomes keep someone in line when they either feel like speeding up or slowing down. These are especially integral to fast pieces which demand a certain tempo.
