Pick-A-Professor

Is it necessary and do i really need to do it to ensure a good course schedule?

It will be the best $5 you ever spent. Now, if you'll be a freshman, it's highly possible that you'll find out who all the best profs are but you won't be able to get in any of their classes. At least you'll know which ones you really need to avoid, though.

don't forget that you can use CIS too (and it's free).

go to the UT direct webbie, go to search, and search for CIS [Course-Instructor Survey (CIS) Results].

pick-a-prof gives you the breakdown of grades students of a certain prof earned. CIS is more of a survey rating the prof. check CIS out.

pickaprof is valuable, I like using that and classgrabber to plan my schedule out.

CIS is okay but I really like the written reviews that Pick-a-prof has to offer, and the format is much easier to read rankings and such.

It is DEFINITELY worth it.

Also check out, for free, www.utlife.com

How is Pick a Prof different from UTLife?

It's not a piece of crap.

if you dont want to spend money...

you can also use ratemyprofessor....and the professor ratings on Myspace (once you make UT one of your "schools")..

Hardly anyone uses ratemyprofessor at UT because they have the Course Instructor Survey, UTLife, and Pick-a-Prof
