Pick My Internship for the Summer

I'm serious, majority vote wins. I'm totally split.

Goldman Sachs Operations Internship (backoffice) vs. Valstone Partners (private equity internship)

PE FTW... nice snag!~

On this board, it's GS Ops. On WSO, it's UBS IBD vs. Valstone?

Ops sucks. Valstone sucks, too.

what are your future goals? i could definitely see one being the right choice for one person and wrong for the other

Ops seems to have a really bad reputation on WS, is there a reason for this?

Also, what year are you?

you know what's really funny? the entire valstone team is either from carnegie mellon or from michigan

More specifically, it's all Tepper and Ross. I know one Wharton kid going there though.

its a 9 person boutique, and the two founders are from tepper and ross. it seems like all ft offers for detroit ffice go to ross kids and baltimore office go to tepper kids

dont expect a ft offer if you intern there though. it looks like they give like 1 every 2 years and i think they take like 4-5 kids per year as interns. from what i've heard, the work you'd do is pretty legit though, its just a bit of a gamble because who knows what ft recruiting environment will be like next year if you dont get an offer

i thought u hate ops? why r u even considering it?

Hmmm Goldman Sachs looks interesting

o, it is interesting, its just lfecollegeguy made some comments about operation, and im just curious why is he even considering this option if he hates it so much
