I am torn between 2 colleges: the University of Arizona and New Mexico State. Arizona is my dream school and they offered me a smaller scholarship. NMSU is a close 2nd and I like it almost as much as Arizona. I have no doubt that I would be happy at New Mexico State, but Arizona is my dream school. New Mexico State offered me in state tuition (I live in Massachusetts). I don't know which college to choose. Should I go to my dream school even though it's more expensive? Is the offer at New Mexico State too good to refuse?

Maybe you should post this on City Data ;)

Have you actually visited the schools? What would be the cost to attend each? Can your family make up the difference or will you have to work and take out loans?

I’ve visited both colleges. New Mexico State would be 5,000 a year. Arizona would be 14,000 with the scholarship but if they raise tuition it would be 17,000 (and that’s with a scholarship). My family can afford both, but of course it’s best to save money if possible.

and diontechristmas: what a coincidence that you just happened to see this same question I posted on city data. what’s your city data user name?
