On all my applications, I've put Public Relations as my major, however, I am not sure. I have a list of majors that interest me, but I haven't really chosen one I like the best. Was it a bad idea to have put PR for my major on applications instead of Undecided? How easy will it be to change majors?

It shouldn’t be a problem if you don’t know which major you like the best, and fortunately it’s really easy to change majors! You can change it at Orientation if you wish, or anytime by filling out the Change Majors form: [University of Central Florida Registrar’s Office](http://www.registrar.ucf.edu/forms/change_major/)

Hope this helps!

Please help.

Does choosing a major while applying affect your chances of getting accepted? Say I choose business/marketing, that’s a VERY popular major…compared to Security and Protective Services: 5%.

Meaning, if I choose the least popular major, would I have a better chance since there are less applicants applying to it ?

I’m pretty sure it doesn’t, since most students change their major at least once while in school. A lot of students enter UCF as undecided majors, and I think that the only time your major matters is for Transfer admissions.

Thanks davidng150, I thought it would play a factor in decisions. I still think it would, depending if you have low math grades and your applying for accounting…i think they would take that into consideration.

I don’t know, maybe its just me.

Does anyone know if you can change your major the first day of college (or whenever its allowed before the deadline, like orientation) according to bright futures ?

Or do we need to state and know which major we want…without changing it?

You may change your major. When my s applied he was business administration, I think. He knew before he went to orientation that he would be chaning to economics, which he did before orientation.
