picking a major...

for someone who is undecided applying to many ivy league/top schools how much will the selected major affect admission chances?

I’m undecided on a major right now but I heard that listing myself as undecided hurts my chances… so i don’t know what to do.

If someone held a gun to me and forced me to pick a major right now I would probably pick chem or biochem, but i’m also leaning strongly towards economics, or something business related, OR political science. I really can’t make up my mind yet on what I want to do…

<p>go to the websites of the colleges you are thinking about and see what they say. Some, like stanford, say flat-out they don't consider intended major in admissions. Others, like large publics such as Cal, definitely do care.</p>

<p>Also...at other school you may need to directly apply through a special application and you will want to prepare for that.</p>
