Okay so I'm going into my senior year of high school and I've always had a love for math and science so I decided an engineering major would be perfect for me. Originally I was looking into biomedical engineering but the more I looked into it the less interested I became. Lately, I've looked into chemical engineering and this seems more appealing because it is a versatile field with many different possible professions. Living in Colorado, I plan on applying and probably attending to Mines however, I'm unsure of which major to pursue. Is a chemical engineering major a good idea to start with? And will attending mines limit my choices if I do decide to change my major?

Mines is an excellent school, and their ChemE program is well-regarded.

Any of Chem/Mech/EE are pretty stable undergraduate choices that will guarantee you decent job opportunities and versatility in grad school choices.
I wouldn’t go for ChemE unless you’re sure you like that field though. It gets hard and deficiencies stack in a very painful manner.
