Picking classes how are these?

I am going to be a BBB major. That is the current plan anyway.

I took AP Biology junior year in HS, but never took the AP test. My grades were A/A first/second semesters and my bio teacher wrote one of my recs for Penn. I am considering taking:

Bio 101 - even though it might be kinda easy along with:
Calc - Never took it in hs
Critical Writing Seminar/bio
Crystals-a cool sounding frosh seminar

That’s 4.5 cu plus the writing, formal reasoning and the Natural science sectors are out of the way which would never be a problem with my major.

Anyone have an opinion? Too hard…to easy?

Also, I am an athlete who has practice and competition commitments for a major part of the year.

FROSH SEMINARS = EVIL. Don't take them. They're NOT easy A's, and you honestly don't bond with the other kids in them, and it's all around bs (which is why they sometimes grade hard - to fool themselves into thinking it's not bs).

Disclaimer: I never took one, but I heard several of my friends complain to no end about them. I'd seriously reconsider.

the critical writing takes up a fair amount of time, but not too difficult. If you're not strong in math, you might struggle a bit through calc depending on what class you take (103 or 104). However, it doesn't look too bad for a first semester at penn and if anything i think it errs on the easy side. great for someone who has other commitments

Hmm, I was always under the impression that critical writing seminars were required...

So is it possible to graduate without taking one? If so, I definitely want to clear up some space in my schedule for another class.

writing seminar = required
freshman seminar = definitely not required
