picking interviewer

I never did an interview nor did I sign up for one, mostly because I didn't do to well with another school's interview. However, I am now realizing that I have significantly improved interviewing after a lot of practice so now I would like to do an interview.

Since I am not sure if they are letting any one else sign up for one, if I know a docter or a classmate's father who are Columbia alumni, can I be interviewed by them?

sure, you can have anyone youd like to interview you including your own parents as long as they went there… rolls eyes

You don’t have the option of choosing an interview or not. If you’ve been selected for one, you’ll be contacted but if you haven’t, then you do anything about it.

first of all actyankee…not necessary
second of all, so i cant ask person X to join almni recommendation comitee

As an applicant, you can’t choose your interviewer, nor can you even ask for an interview. The Columbia adcom decides both for you. Period.

My son has an interview scheduled for this evening. He does not recall signing up for one, but was contacted by an interviewer. He is looking forward to it.

Best of luck to him.

this post is beyond silly for so many reasons

if i know one of the adcoms can i ask them to let me in?

Actually, his post was probably the best one on this thread.
