In college I want to do a double major in Spanish and something STEM (leaning towards math right now). If I’m equally interested in pursuing both of these majors, will putting Spanish as my top choice improve my chances as a male applicant?
Also basically I have no idea what I want to do with my future and I heard somewhere that you shouldn’t put undecided under future plans for the Commonapp. Is there any truth to this?
It’s not a big deal-----the point of the section is for Admissions Officers to know what you’re potentially interested in doing post-college and how that fits into what you will do DURING college.
Rather than focusing on the slight discrepancies between major acceptance rates, focus on the “story” your application’s trying to tell. If someone was to look at your essays, extracurricular activities, letters, interview etc, would they be assured of your genuine interest in x or y field? That’s what needs to come across in your application.
