Picking up December.

Those of you who are taking December 6th, how're you prepping? Share your methods for vocab, CR, essays and such? Also, how're you doing on practice tests?

I'm doing lots of workbooks. I use flashcards for vocabulary. I'm doing well on practice tests, but it's not to the point where I don't miss a single question -- errors still exist, and that's what I'm focusing on eliminating.

hi arachnotron, i think you've taken the SAT before haven't you? with regards to that, how were your blue book scores in comparison to your actual results?

for the past few blue book tests i've had: 2260 2260 2280 2300. so do you suppose a 2300 on the december SAT is a realistic thing to hope for. by the way, point to note is that my CR hovers around the low 700s. how can i improve it to mid-700s.

Real thing: 2340
Blue book: 2250-2310

The blue book is good for practice, but you're not going to have an accurate score prediction. Just keep working at it and keep practicing, but don't look at your scores as "scores", because, really, no test taken at home can tell you how you're going to do.

I can tell you that the more practice you do -- and the more time you spend going over your answers -- the higher your real score will be.

ah, this gives me a lot of hope because i spend about 3 hours going over the answers to each test. and my blue book score range is very similar to yours (2260-2300 out of four tests). and your real score is pretty much where i'm aiming. my writing and math are fine, except i need methods for the CR. and i need a topic that's not too unusual to appear on the December SAT essay.
