I have been accepted into purdue university, but am now having second thoughts. I am now interested in going to school on the west coast for engineering and film/ television. The problem is I didnt apply to a single school out there. Should I go to purdue for two years and try and transfer in? Or would it be possible for me to take a semester off and apply for (for example) UCLAs or UCSDs spring semester? Any advice is much appreciated, thanks!

What were your original reasons for selecting Purdue? You could just be having old-fashioned buyer’s remorse. There are thousands of schools out there; it’s exciting to imagine the endless possibilities. It’s not uncommon to experience a let-down after you’ve chosen a school and begin to wonder what if?

The areas you are interested in are available at Purdue. I’d stick with plan A.

You can take a semester or a year off, reconsider your college list, and apply again.

To start with, ask Purdue if you would need to reapply if you don’t enroll this fall. Sometimes that is possible.
