Was putting a picture any kind of help to your application? I just put my yearbook senior drape picture. I didn't get why they asked for one.

Did you put it on a Word document and then upload it? I can't upload actual pictures.

Yeah, I did. It wouldn't allow JPG files.

Yeah, I put the photo on a Word document, too

My photo was of me leaning on the Alma Mater

Cute! I had one of that too, and I thought of putting it on, but I didn't know if it would have been cliche-ish/overdone.

if you are a girl, a victorias secret-style photo where you demonstrate your fierce side would be most effective.

for guys, work on your "blue steel" and other zoolander looks

HAHA i was wondering what would have happened if I'd submitted a sexy photo. Would it hurt? lmao

haha "zoolander looks" someone should have done that.

They ask for a picture so that if they've met you sometime in the year they can remember who you are. Like if you asked them an intelligent question or if you seemed genuinely interested in their school.. just so they can match you with your application. I took a picture of myself in my senior polo -- right before the columbia rep came to my school

I was reading somewhere on the forum, this girl was like will taking a picture in a Columbia sweatshirt help my sub-par GPA, SAT, and ECs?

I was like you have to be kidding. I think the only thing more suck-up-ish might have been to take your picture with your interviewer or something.

haha i think that trying to hard in the picture could be more harmful than helpful - they can see right through it. just be yourself, that's what they're looking for anyway

Yeah, they're not gonna be like "oo she's wearing a CC sweatshirt! that shows commitment! come enroll!"

Probably until I was in eighth grade I always thought of the whole admissions process as something directly out of Legally Blonde. Like where she sends in a video looking all hot in a swimming pool and all the old men love it. And the fluff ECs are overlooked because they like how she looks.

It seemed so easyyy in the movies lol

haha i knowww!!!! but this whole process is such a gamble. i'm trying to figure out how to keep my mind off whenever we find out.. but i can't....

Exactly. Like I'm sitting in Government and the teacher has a picture of the Supreme Court building and I start thinking hmmm that looks a lot like the Low Library for some reason... and then just start thinking about how cool it would be to go there, and definitely not about government.
