when were we given our PIDs?
because i don't have one. do they only do this for accepted students? i was deferred ea...

i think that they give a pid to every prospective student. i read somewhere that anyone with a university relationship has a pid.

the EASIEST way to get it is to click on search on the unc home page. plug in pid and the first thing that comes up is pid and there are questions that they answer regarding this.

I just added this to the other thread, but here's that page:
http://www.pid.unc.edu/PIDHowToGetStudent.html

i emailed the university cashier to see what the deal is and she said that everything is normal, the system is functioning correctly (for those that question whether we are supposed to see this stuff), and that the system is set up the way it is to make it easier on oos students and parents? did not say we were admitted or not admitted based on being able to see it. vague so that we would not know, i suspect.

PID are only given to accepted students.

how do you know that? I read somewhere in all of the various info that prospective students are assigned a pid. so if on accepted ones get it then we are all in and i find that hard to believe.

new info:

look under systems and procedures with its info. can be found if you search pid and a few down is system and procedures. click and then look to right. says student pids. says it is created once a decision is made on a students app.

Read: http://www.pid.unc.edu/PIDHowToGetStudent.html

If you submitted a FAFSA, you have a PID. Don't you think one person on all these threads would have said "hey, i can't get my pid" by now if only admitted students had them?!

just called unc. they are saying decisions will be posted online March 31 and mailed out a few days later? that surprised me.
Also asked about the student directory and she did not know so she transferred me to an admissions officer and i left a message. if she calls me i will tell everyone what she says but i am not holding my breath. if they are waiting until 3/31, they aren't going to tell me anything!

i'm so lost..

"Prospective students will have a PID created when a decision is made on an application or when data is sent to the University from the filing of a Federal Aid Form (OAR Outside Application/Resource cycle)."

I'm assuming the fafsa is considered a federal aid form?
