would a position "proprietary trading PROGRAMMER intern" pigeonhole me into ibank tech instead of regular ibank? That's my summer position.
My previous internships were all in tech also.

IT/Tech is back office. Why would you do BO if you’re actually looking for a front office position?

well i am still a sophomore, back in the past.like freshman summer that’s the only job i can find…and now proprietary trading programming intern was what they offered me in

Bearcats, as I’ve said on other threads, I think it’s tough to have a back office on your resume when looking for a front office job. Combine that with the fact that you’re at a ‘soft’ target (non Ross Michigan) and I would be looking very hard for an in-house finance internship instead.

It will still be tough in 2 years and the kids with the prime internship experience will get the jobs.
