Just thought I’d drop in and give you all a quick glimpse into one of the coolest days of pilot training, at least that I’ve had so far. I’m almost 3 months into pilot training and I just soloed this past week. It’s awesome to have instructor pilots give you permission to go fly a multi-million dollar aircraft on your own and spend over an hour just flying around burning hundreds of pounds of fuel at over two hundred miles per hour. As tradition dictates, after a person’s initial solo, they get thrown in the dunk tank. However, as tradition also dictates, people don’t willingly go into the water. The whole experience is a blast, though. I put pictures from mine online here:

At the Academy, things don’t/won’t always go as planned, but it’s important to not lose sight of why you want to go there or are there. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s quite bright.

Pilot training is very busy, but very worthwhile. If any of you have questions, particularly about the first few months of pilot training, I can try to answer them. Just be patient if I don’t respond right away. ;)
