Pin v. 3

Could PIN system be up on November 14? Princeton site says the online application will be inaccessible on that day.

Dunno, but I did email their UA office to inquire about the PIN system. They replied today with "Sometime next week, you should receive an email from the Princeton Admission Office, directing you to a website where you may log-in (with your pin number) and check the status of your application at that time."

Hope that helps.

as soon as someone gets this email about PIN system, plz post it up :)

how about you set up your pop client to continually poll your pop server or have your pop server do some reverse rpc to your pc that can trigger some event and cause your pc to blare an alarm if an email from princeton.edu arrives? it'd sure be a lot more interesting than sitting in front of your mailbox pressing f5 or whatever you're doing.

Wow, that last post was complete gibberish to me. I'm so computer illiterate. : )

Here's a follow up, for both this thread and the confirmation thread:

Apparently not everyone receives email confirmation. I sent my app via usps and have not received any confirmation. So I called earlier today and spoke with an admissions person, and she said my app was complete as of 11/7 and that Princeton had sent a postcard to confirm this. She also said the PIN system would be up next week, which would confirm what others have said.

So don't worry and good luck to all.

I sent my app via Fedex, but I got email confirmation that my app was complete from Princeton. Maybe you didn't include your email address with the app?

11argon, did you include your email on ur app?

Go to Princeton's website on the Undergrad Admissions Page and there is now an option to create a username (separate from the application one). You will need to know the pin and e-mail you supplied on the application/supplement. It is a very simple page: it tells you your name, your birthday, your high school, and whether your application is complete. I had already known that my app was complete, but I made an account anyway just in case they release decisions on it!

Thanks, JTC! Logged in and was very happy to see (again) that my app is complete! Noticed one weird thing, though...there was no space between my middle name and my last name. I know it isn't a big deal, but I was just wondering if it's the same for you guys. Happy to finally be using my PIN! :)

Did you two use online apps or paper apps? I tried to register for a pin #, but it said that they didn't have my email/pin combination. I've gotten email confirmation that my app is complete, but maybe they're just starting to put the pin numbers in now.

so... i am missing something. great... teachers are so unreliable.

no space btwn middle and last name either!

tedsfrozenhead--I applied online.
nelle--great, glad to know I'm not the only one; it's probably just how they inputed it in and not a problem.

We worry about the most ridiculous things! :)

Yeah, I saw my name and at first I was like "no big deal" but then I started thinking...what if they thought that was my last name and my name on my app didn't match anything else and so they didn't even read my app or anything?! But now I'm fine. :) OMG, Dec. 15 cannot come soon enough!!!!!

i just checked and one of my teacher references was never recieved! i am obviously taking care of this right away but I really don't hope it counts against me as I gave the teacher over a month to work on it.

:(

yeah my score report is missing because my collegeboard account wasn't registered with my legal name, so they didn't match it up with the rest of my application yet...do you think they started making decisions yet?

Do they realize how stressed out they are making all of us???

Lol I thought I was the only one who got worried about the middle/last name thing...:p

Only 30 days left though! We are a third of the way there!
