I watched them on Live 8 and they were ok..nothing spectacular. Gilmour seems to have lost his voice though his guitar playing is still top-notch. Waters seems to have been pushed to the sidelines. Relations between members aren't too good. Everyone's old... Will they still be able to release another album?

In short, do they have a future?

do they have to have a future?

sorry I didn't care for them the first time around either

Unfortunately enough I didn't get to see them play :(

Yeah, their singing was sorta rusty, but I thought the rest of the performance was pretty good. They might have a future...I'm hoping for a tour so I can finally see them live.

They were absolutely awesome. Gilmour's voice was still great, although Waters' had fallen off a little. I'm glad I realized that MTV and VH1 were bound to screw up coverage somehow so I watched the webcast and got to see all of Gilmour's Comfortably Numb solo, which was amazing. The only thing that irritated me a little was the chick that they brought in to sing during Comfortably Numb. She shouldn't have been there. She turned the part in the song that should be a scream into a soprano part. That *****.

The chick is always there on live shows during this song...I dunno why. On other concerts, its understandable, because you do have those other songs which have the soprano style singing..but on this show and song?

I wonder how you can say Gilmour's voice is still great..it was all broken and somewhat tuneless. Waters hardly sang during any of the songs except in the beginning of Comfortably numb and it didn't as if anything was wrong with his voice.

BTW, what solo part? I watched the song on Vh1 and there didn't seem to be anything missing except the curtsies in the end.

And, what was Waters doing jumping about with his bass as if he were playing solo? Or does he always do that?

And did you guys notice..Waters seemed to be the most excited in this reunion. Odd, considering that he was the one responsible for the break-up.

Waters always does that. Gilmour's voice was pretty good. Waters' voice sucked.

pink floyd is amazing, show some respect. they are one of the most influential bands of all time. waters is the man. that is all.

waters is a genius when it comes to song writing (much much better than Gilmour obviously) and I'd say he's one of the best bassists of all time but his singing has always sucked and so has his ego :p

Why does he seem to be on a perennial acid trip? Is he forgetting to come to gigs? Is he singing See Emily Play kind of songs?

Hehehe I just LOVE Barrett :)

I'm sorry..Waters was the man. Not any more

EDIT: Sorry Such..earlier post seemed meaningless so I deleted it.

Gilmour's voice definitely did not suck, especially on Money. He was a little off on some of the other stuff, but Waters on Wish You Were Here was the only thing I really noticed.

I've never actually seen Floyd live (obviously), but I'll probably buy PULSE, so I'll take your word on that.

Waters really isn't that great a bassist instrumentally, his real talent lies in his songwriting and his old singing, although I've always liked Gilmour's voice more. I wouldn't knock Gilmour's songwriting abilities too much though, High Hopes off of The Division Bell is a pretty awesome song.
