Who listens to the greatest band in the world here? What are your personal favourites?

Awesome. I've got over 5 hours of Pink Floyd on my ipod.

Favorite: Comfortably Numb
Also love:
Wish You Were Here
The entire DSOTM
Run Like Hell
Learning To Fly
Astronomy Domine
All of Animals

Listening to Welcome to the Machine right now. Come to think of it, all of Wish You Were Here rocks.

Pink Floyd's really more of an experience than specific songs. What's kinda cool is listening to their first song ever (Astronomy Domine) and their last song ever (well, they didn't have Waters, but it was the last song anyone recorded under the name Pink Floyd - High Hopes off of the Division Bell). It's nice to see how they evolved.

I've got to say, I always liked Gilmour more than Waters, both as a person and as an artist. Waters is awesome, don't get me wrong, but Gilmour's my favorite musician ever to exist. Most of my Pink Floyd liking friends seem to disagree with that, so I thought I'd throw that out there.

Man, Pink Floyd rocks.

They are cool.

I love Dark Side of the Moon, but for about the last week or so I've been listening to The Wall on my hour commute to school...it's awesome.

For some reason, I really like "The Trial" on the second disc...no idea why.

Yeah The Trial is awesome. You gotta love "Money" too though, it's definitely my favorite Pink Floyd song.

The Wall live album, "Is there Anybody Out There?," is definitely a worthy investment for any Pink Floyd fan.

I think the wall is highly over rated (though comfortably numb is my most favourite song ever). i preferred the albums where the band was still working together Wish you were here is just fantastic!
I love the Syd Barrett stuff too- bike and See Emily Play are awesome!

ieatglue I totally agree with you- waters is a real ass. David Gilmour doesnt have his composing genius but he sure as hell is a better human being and playing the guitar like he does helps too :)

But I think we would agree that the Waters period is the best period of Pink Floyd...the Syd Barrett era is not the Floyd that most people identify with...and the David Gilmore led Floyd after The Post War Dream just isn't Pink Floyd at all...

they are my love

some personal favs:
comfortably numb
mother
the wall
wish you were here
brain damage

yeah Barrett isn't quintessential Floyd but he's still pretty damn good. I don't care for the post waters stuff too much either but the division bell has really good stuff... high hopes is just brilliant :)

I have ~80 bryan adams songs on my comp :p

I really like the Barrett era, sometimes happy and poppy and sometimes absolutley crazy. but it doesn't come close to Shine on You crazy diamond. that was the first pink floyd I ever heard. Time is my next favorite.

oh, btw has anyone heard the scissor sister's cover of Comfortably Numb? Methinks its ick.

PINK FLOYD RULES!
Eclipse, Brain Damage, and Comfortably Numb are some of my favorites. I really like Us and Them though also- its got a rockin saxophone solo. but its all about:

new car, caviar, four star daydream think ill buy me a football team!

money baby.

cantstand...yeah, I've heard the Scissor Sisters' version. It's...interesting, lol.

I have. It was one of the most unpleasnat experiences of my life :p

Is anyone else p i s s e d off with the songs they chose for Echoes? And the way they just truncated Shine on and Echoes? Because I am

pink floyd rocks !
the gilmour era songs are not that good though...

I love dark side of the moon. It was the first floyd album I listened to and the other albums have really not been that appealing as dark side of..

while we are at it, how about radiohead? They kinda resemble floyd and I like them for that...

yeah i like radiohead too.

DSOTM was my first Floyd album too :) still can't decide which ones better DSOTM or WYWH
