One of the schools I’m considering currently is Wabash College. The problem is they don’t directly have my desired major of accounting. What they do have instead is a pipeline program that feeds directly into Masters of Accounting program for the Kelley School of Business at IU Bloomington which coincidentally is another school I’m considering. Though I would have no oppositions in going into this program as a Master’s is typically attained before one sits for the CPA exam, I have come across a few apparent problems that coincide with the benefits:
- I don't think this program leads to a bachelor's degree in accounting and is really just an econ degree with some accounting class. I have concerns that this wouldn't prepare me as an accountant very well.
- With this not really being an accounting major, some classes need to be taken outside of Wabash at an IU campus. Not only is this certainly annoying, but the cost is some bit troubling unless that's included, but I'm not really sure.
Is it worth going to this school with this program or would I be doing a detriment to my career? If anyone would like further reference to this program I have the link included below. Thanks for the help.
