Pitt admissions 2005-6

Indeed.....

archcommus:
No I don'd think it gets updated...you just wait for your letter

Ahh the agony. No one might even be home to receive the letter.

If I call will they tell me?

I don't know. I can tell you I called to find out about the scholarship award after we received the acceptance and they were very evasive. They did not say yes, but neither did they say no. I got the impression they were not allowed to give out scholarship infor over the phone. But a couple of days later, we got the scholarship letter anyway.
so, try your luck.

I guess I will give it a shot!

Thanks.

Got accepted today!

Woohoo!

Congratulations! What year will you be transferring into?

Sophomore.

I already paid my tuition deposit and submitted the admission data form. Now I just need to do financial stuff and send in my housing contract once I get it.

How is Pitt concerning NEED BASED financial aid?

We didn't get any :(

What department are you going into? I think students have to declare a department after freshman general eng classes.

But they do give it out, right? Is your income rather high to disqualify you? Princeton Review claims an "average freshman total need-based gift aid" of over $5,000. That's just money from the school and doesn't include federal/state/etc., right?

I'm going into computer engineering.

Somehow, our EFC was higher than the tuition, so we got nada. Therefore, I really don't know how their aid works. I guess you may get some combination of grants, loans, work-study and merit money. Financial aid is certainly available.

I forget, did you say you have a daughter there? Or a daughter that will be going? I'm interested in hearing about fellow students.

Meh my EFC is higher than cost :/

Didn't you get a scholarship though?
whiner :-P

Yea haha :P I just thought it was rather funny

Pshttt.....

Got rejected from Pitt today.....really really disappointed.

May I inquire of your stats?

GPA: 3.32 UW
SAT: 580 V, 610 M, 650 W
Asian, Out of State (Virginia)
Liberal Arts

is it worth appealing? i was originally deferred, and then rejected, but offered admission to bradford (their branch campus, which i dont intend on pursuing)
