How does the University of Pittsburgh notify their admissions decisions? My online portal doesn’t work, so can I expect to hear through the mail? (Just wondering because I sent my 2nd quarter grades in over a month ago and I still haven’t heard anything)
Thanks in advance!
There is a Pitt Admissions officer that closely monitors the threads in the Pitt section of this site. Post over there and he/she will help you out. I find that the Pitt portal is not at all user friendly. There are two different ways to access. I believe my daugher’s acceptance shows in one of the portals, but not the other. (She did get emails as well.)
@rosiem2619, Official notification of admissions decisions doesn’t come through the portal, anyway. It will just tell you if your application is complete. I would guess in the next week or so (very rough guess) you should be receiving a letter or email from us. Best of luck!

Thank you!
@hailtopitt1787 My son applied to Pitt last month. His application shows as ‘complete’ on the portal, with a date of 11/23/18. By when should he expect to hear on a decision? Thanks
Hi @RedSkinsFan18,
It typically takes 4-6 weeks to receive a decision. Please note that our offices will be closed for winter recess from December 24 - January 1 and no decisions will be sent out during this time frame.
Good luck to your son!

Thank you!
@hailtopitt1787 My son just got the email. He is in!
@hailtopitt1787 I applied for rolling admissions and my application was received 8/14/19, when should I expect a decision?
Hi @lovedance1020
Our team started reviewing applications at the start of this month so you can expect to hear back within 4-6 weeks.
Good luck
