Given your familial situation as well as your academic excellence, I think you’ll be set despite your slightly lower SAT scores and dearth of extracurricular activities beyond school. As long as your essays and recommendations also convey that you’ve worked hard to get what you’ve earned, you should be pretty well off 8.5/10. Good luck!
I don’t believe I have ever done this before, but you seem so anxious. . . I give you a 95% chance for acceptance as your stats meet or surpass those listed in the 2015 class profile:
Middle 50 percent SAT Math 600-700
Middle 50 percent SAT Critical Reading 590-700
Middle 50 percent SAT Writing 570-670
Weighted GPA: 3.98
plus a rigorous schedule, plus ECs, plus first gen.
Yes but you need aid, so if you get in, you may not be able to go. Get in some apps now where you can afford or who will give you tons of aid. I know Pitt gives some good aid but your scores may not be high enough.
Yeah, you aren’t going, so best to process that quickly because it is very late in the day to figure that out. See my post to you in the Financial Aid forum, I ran the NPC for you. Sure they can swoop in with some merit aid but it is unlikely to be enough since you need such huge aid.
In recent years, scholarship eligible students possessed ALL of the following:
–minimum SAT score of 1450 (math and critical reading scores only) or 33 ACT (Math and English subscores average)
overall ‘A’ average
–top 5% class rank (if applicable) while participating in challenging high school curriculums consisting of AP/IB/Honors courses
–record of excellence in various academic and nonacademic activities outside of the classroom
