****PITT CLASS OF 2021 DECISIONS THREAD****

@mommdc Of course not…it was a lighthearted comment :slight_smile: @Dolmite thanks for your input! It explained how TE works perfectly!

@hailtopitt1787 ok so I applied as undecided, but can I declare any major in the Dietrich school right after I enroll there or go there, or are there any limitations that will affect me from declaring certain majors?

@hailtopitt1787 like I wanted to apply as a neuroscience major or a sociology major but I wasn’t sure, so I just applied as an undeclared major, but now I have my mind set on neuroscience. but can I get the nueroscience major or will there be any limitations ?

Decision: Accepted (Nursing)
Applied Oct 9

@carachel2 Thanks!

@COof2017HH Bioengineering class size is not gated by how many students the program can accomodate but rather the demands of the program, assumption that you need a PhD tends to limit to self selected few. My 2 dds are BioEs so if you have a question let me know.

@hopeforthebest82, Yes, if you come in as an undecided student, it will be very easy for you to declare any major in the Dietrich School once you are enrolled at Pitt. It is very common for incoming freshman to be undecided about their major and we offer lots of options and academic advising to help you determine what program is best for you.

Any tips on how to share extracurriculars? Did you just incorporate them into your short answer question responses or did you send a resume? Thanks!

@windiansallin, Yep! Incorporating them into your Short Answer Question responses is the recommended way to do ti.

Hey guys! I just got my email today saying I was accepted, but my status has not updated online yet. Anyway, here are my stats:
GPA: 4.23 (weighted)
SAT (old): 1860
3 AP Classes (AP Lang, AP Lit, and AP US History II) & 14 honors courses and a few cpa classes
AP Tests:
APUSH: 5
AP Lang: 3
Major: Political Science
Good luck everyone! (:

Looks like my DS’s application is finally complete - had been waiting on transcript to arrive from high school. Just wonder if decisions are typically made within 2-3 weeks after being submitted in full. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted!

Accepted today! I’m so excited!

32 ACT, 3.94 GPA, 11 AP’s, top 4% of class

Thank you!

@hailtopitt1787 My DD already received her invite to apply for GAP program, so my question is that if the latest SAT subject test scores will be considered for the program? Should she send her latest scores to Pitt? Thanks!

@dadofd, Congrats to your daughter! We do not request SAT subject scores for any admissions or scholarships decisions. If you would like to talk about her specific application further, feel free to contact our office: 412-624-7488.

@hailtopitt1787 thanks!

When will I hear if I got accepted? I submitted my application on October 2, so I feel like I should have heard by now.

@shooting4stars, It is not uncommon for it to take over a month for your application to be processed and reviewed and for a decision to be sent to you. No need to worry!

Best of luck!
