I received both the acceptance email with the link to the video and an acceptance letter this past week, but how do I know if I can now apply to the GAP program? Should I have gotten an email? Should it have been indicated on my admission letter?

My son (out of state) got accepted to Dietrich for computer science. Very happy. He got a 1350 SAT and 4.1 GPA. Multiple AP and honors classes. National Honor Society, varsity soccer, etc. Unfortunately his numbers weren’t high enough for any merit aid. So my question is this: when do we find out about financial need based aid, and who do we contact to discuss or negotiate financial aid? I’m scared that he won’t be able to afford Pitt even though it’s his top choice. Does Pitt generally work with families to help make it more affordable? Thanks.
@nbrafter, GAP notification comes after the admissions letter. I would give it a week or two. Congrats and best of luck!

I got accepted a while ago and i did the SRAR. I was told that if i choose to accept admission, i would have to send in an official high school transcript. Can i just send it now, even before i accept admission?
I think that probably refers to your final high school transcript, once you graduate.
Hailtopitt1787 - thanks for the info. I’ll be sure to contact financial aid office if necessary. Probably no reason to contact them before getting financial aid info in February, correct? Does each accepted student have a specific financial aid officer assigned to them to discuss these issues?
@nsc123, Yes, we will want your final official high school transcript.
@njdad70, Students are not assigned a specific financial aid advisor, if you give our office a call, any one of them will be happy to assist you.

@carachel2 I talked to someone who said it will be taken into account… hope I get enough to go because this is my #1 by a long shot
@hailtopitt1787 Just to be clear… one is considered for the merit scholarships even if a FAFSA is not submitted, correct?
What are the chances of me getting reconsidered for Pitt? I got rejected from main and I got into Johnstown. I emailed my counselor and she said I can submit mid-year grades to get reconsidered for main campus. Stats are below

@junight10, That is correct. The FAFSA is needed for financial aid, but not Scholarship consideration.

@hailtopitt1787 . My S applied on 15th and has an email confirmation meeting the deadline. I also spoke to the staff on 16th just to confirm that everything in the application was OK. I got the email about logging in etc…We just called now and the Pitt person said “the third party sent the score etc…on 19th and so he may not be valid for the admission / scholarship”. Should Pitt’s 3rd party process impact the applicants!!?. I would have expected any lead time for the third party should be incorpora Apprecite your feedback.

Just got accepted!! I applied biomedical engineering but I’m not sure if I actually got into that program because I only got the accepted video.
