To those that have been accepted to the class of 2023: wondering if anyone has received updates about the honors college yet (and merit aid, though I’ve heard that’ll come later in the year)
good luck to everyone! (:

I’m pretty sure they start reviewing in November. You’ll have a decision by December 15th
That is correct, they will start reviewing Pitt Honors applicants after the November 1 Priority Deadline for Honors Consideration and those who meet that November 1 deadline will hear back by December 15 at the latest.
The Scholarship Committee starts meeting this month and they send out award letters on a rolling basis. Those who are selected for scholarships will hear back from us by March 1 at the latest.

@hailtopitt1787 @jbreslin49 Oh ok thank you both! So can I take that to mean notification about scholarships will begin to/ have begun being sent out this month?
A few may go out this month, but it is much more likely that they will start going out in early November!

@hailtopitt1787 My S got admitted into Swanson last week…For consideration into Pitt Honors and Financial Aid, though he has submitted the necessary essays, would it help for him to send his resume with AP scores as well? Thanks.
@angeltalk, He is welcome to send whatever he would like to oafa@pitt.edu and request that it be added to his file. However, I will say that our office finds the responses to the Pitt Honors and Short Answer Questions combined with the information on the application totally sufficient for our review process. Our reviewers find the responses to the Short Answer Questions much more helpful than a resume because they show his personality and personal drive/interests more effectively than a list of activities. Our general rule of thumb is to recommend sending responses to those questions rather than a resume - which is what he has already done!
Hope that helps!

Thank you @hailtopitt1787
I have just seen somebody posting on 2023 DECISIONS THREAD that DD got 15K scholarship. So, the scholarship round might have started rolling. Please share yours when you receive it.
I got a $15k/year scholarship by mail today!
@csNotBS Congrats! May I ask you are OOS or IS?
@worriedcat I’m OOS.
Here are my other stats reposted, since I was asked for them on the Class of 2023 Decisions thread.
WGPA: 4.5 | UWGPA: 4.0 | Rank: 1/350
SAT: 1550 | SAT Math II: 800 | SAT Bio: 800
(I don’t think they take SAT Subject Tests into consideration, but I sent mine anyway.)
16 AP + 4 Dual Credit Classes
Pretty good extracurriculuars, leadership positions, internships, and community service. All discussed in short answers.
Out of State applicant for CS.
@csNotBS Thank you for sharing! Once again, congratulations!
Congrats to all winners! Can I ask did you see the offer on your portal under the financial tab?
@WaitingPitt nope. I received a letter, but nothing online seems to mention the offer.
Has anybody from Dietrich gotten into Honors yet?
@csNotBS Thanks so much! And congratulations to you!!! Best of luck in your next 4 years!!
Just received 15k a year :).OSS student
Stats: 34 ACT, 4.0 UW GPA, 1/68 class rank. 10 CCP classes (35 credit hours), my school doesn’t have AP lol
I also dance at a pre-professional ballet company for extracurriculars, as well as do science projects for 4-H and CRISPR research
Has anyone gotten their honors decisions yet? I was reading the forum from last year and people had already gotten theirs this time last year?
It has been stated that Pitt Honors decisions won’t start going out until after November 1.
DS just got a letter yesterday awarding him 25K/year (OOS). Honestly I can’t see an obvious difference between him and the students who were offered 15K – must have been something in his SAQs that piqued a reader’s interest.
@therin778, The Pitt Honors process has changed substantially this year. This year, November 1st is the Pitt Honors Priority Consideration Deadline. Candidates who meet that deadline will be informed of their Pitt Honors admission decision on or before December 15.
Good luck!
