Pitt decision

@hailtopitt1787 I submitted my application on August 15th but my application wasn’t complete until September 6th because I had to send in my green card (I’m a Pennsylvania resident though). When do you think I’ll hear back from them?

@amyliu905, We are currently estimating 4-6 weeks from the time your application was complete.

Good luck!

@hailtopitt1787 I have been interested in pitt for so Long! I’ve been to many visits, in fact I spent 4 weeks of this summer at University of Pittsburgh’s Health Careers Scholars Academy. My unweighted GPA is a 3.34 and my weighted is a 4.24. My SAT is 1330 and I take a total of 6 AP classes and most of my classes are honors. Do you think I have a good shot at main campus?

@amyliu905,

The best reference point is probably our class profile - you can see what the typical incoming freshman for last year’s class was like: https://oafa.pitt.edu/explore/class-profile/

Good luck!

@hailtopitt1787 Hi there! I was accepted to the University of Pittsburgh Dietrich’s School of Arts and Sciences last week! On my acceptance letter, they said I am a prospective pre-med major. I though premed wasn’t a major. So what does pre-med at pitt actually mean? also, can i major in just biology, or do you guys only have microbiology? Thanks!

@amiu905, First off, congrats on getting In to Pitt! Pre-med is not a major at Pitt, but we do have a specific structure of advising and opportunities to prep you to get into the best possible medicinal school. The major listed on your letter won’t affect anything for you when you come to Pitt. We admit to freshman entry school (in this case for you the Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences) not major program. Once you are here for your first advising appointment, it is very good for your advisor to know that you want the pre-med track. Working with them, you can then choose the major that works best for you on that path. Hope that helps clarify!

@hailtopitt1787 Hi! I also applied to Pitt Honors. Do you know when I’ll hear back about that decision? Thanks!

@amyliu905,

The Pitt Honors Priority Consideration Deadline is November 1. Candidates who meet that deadline will hear back after that deadline is passed, by December 15 at the latest.

Good luck!
