Has anyone gotten an engineering scholarship? I got a full tuition w/Chancellor's Invite, but I still haven't gotten the $2000 for engineering.

If you have full tuition (from the UHC I am assuming?) then it’s really unlikely that you will also get a $2000 book scholarship on top of it. From my understanding, this was generally given to people who didn’t get a full-tuition scholarship to help supplement other costs since they were still paying both tuition AND room/board fees.

I could be wrong, of course. But also keep in mind that the scholarships from SSOE can be very specific (since most, if not all, are alumni related). When the alumnus/a gives their money they can specify (if they choose) what it’s used for. I.E. “here is a $3000 book scholarship but it can only be given to a girl who expressed interest in Chemical Engineering”.

My daughter was awarded full tuition last year and also a $2000/year engineering scholarship that goes towards room & board. She did not get the engineering scholarship until much later, February or March.

Good point about the time of receiving awards. The deadline for scholarship consideration isn’t until mid-January so SSOE could be waiting to see what ALL of their eligible candidates are like before they pick winners for various awards.
