Pitt honors program - for premed track?

Has anyone compared Pitt honors with UMCP(UMD college park) scholars or UMBC honors ? Here is the perspective- admitted student, seriously considering pre-med track. MD resident, so Pitt is 3 hour drive, out of state with merit aid.

4 year costs tend to favor UMD of course.

Has anyone gone through a similar dilemma ? Have heard that you can easily access Pitt’s undergrad internships vs other schools.

Not sure which one would would help with college GPAs - in terms of being easier to get good grades and good teachers. Also heard you can easily access Pitt’s undergrad internships.
thank you.

As an admitted student into Pitt’s honors college - you are allowed to take honors sections of classes that offer smaller size and perhaps increased access to professors. As I understand it from my kids who have taken honors sections, the curriculum goes into more depth so you should only take honors if it is an area that you are interested/passionate about. There is no gpa bump like a HS course. Pitt offers pre-med track students some very big benefits that are outside of the honors college - namely there are hospitals on campus and near campus for shadowing. Pitt has the 5th largest yearly NIH grant $$ nationally ($485MM) which translates into tremendous opportunities for undergrads to intern in all that bio-related research. It is simple to obtain research opportunities. Placement of premed students into med programs is very high - http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/university-pittsburgh/2052706-statistics-for-pitt-students-admitted-to-medical-schools.html#latest GPA will not be easy with pre-med coursework - you will need to work hard to keep a high gpa.
