Pitt Honors vs. Northwestern

So... I got into both Pitt Honors and Northwestern, and I am debating between them.. any thoughts?

Pitt Honors:
Pros - honors program, 2000 merit scholarship, close to home (pittsburgh)
Cons - we were expecting more aid.. probably not as good opportunites here as at Northwestern (general quality of student body/extracurriculars I mean)

Northwestern -
pros: prestige, academics, atmosphere, i like most everything
cons: very far from home, bad weather, affordable, but still expensive

Other notes: I am planning to apply to medical school.. also looking to apply for the National Health Services Corps scholarship to pay for med school if I am still on that track by junior year

What do you mean by affordable, but still expensive? Because affordable can mean loans that will eventually be paid back as long as you do continue on to be a doctor or it could mean that your parents are wealthy but may not want to just shell out money for undergrad just because of practical reasons.

the first situation that you mentioned… we can afford it with the financial aid package they gave us, EFC = ~25000, but it is still quite a bit of money, about 1.5 times as much as it costs to go to Pitt…
