Hello,

I've been accepted as a transfer student at both University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne university for business administration. I'm trying to decide between the two, they both have reputable business schools, and was wondering if anybody has information that could help me make a decision.

Thanks!

These are the differences:
- Duquesne has smaller student body than University of Pittsburgh.
- Pitt is more known nationally then Duquesne.
- Its easier to get into Duquesne than Pitt.
- Duquesne has a separate campus whereas Pitt is just a lot of buildings.
- Duquesne is more expensive.

If Pitt is cheaper, attend Pitt. University of Pittsburgh has 15% Business students whereas Duquesne has 26%.

Duquesne is also a private Catholic University. Depending on you feelings about a religious institute, that may also change your opinion on which school to go to.

Thanks for the replies,

I’m an out of state student, so after financial aid, both Pitt and Duquesne are around the same price. Pitt seems like a better school, but if I went to Duquesne I could be part of their honors college, I’d possibly have a better gap, etc. From what it seems, recruiters seem to like Pitt more… hmm…

Also, I’m not catholic, so I’m rather indifferent about that aspect of Duquesne.

So both schools cost around the same for me. Do recruiters around the Pittsburgh area prefer one school over the other?

You can be involved with the UHC at Pitt too. The classes are open to anyone with interest. The dorms (upperclassmen) to anyone with >3.0 GPA. Also any of their events and clubs are open to any student on campus. They’re not an exclusive college or anything, you don’t “graduate” from the UHC at Pitt, rather you were a participating member.
