I committed to Pitt last week. I received a Full Tuition Scholarship last December by paper mail. I do not see any information of my scholarship online. Did anyone else receive a scholarship? How can you see its details online?
Did you sign up for your Pitt Computing Account? There may be some information on there that might help.
If you received an email about your financial aid package, you should get information there about how to log in to my.pitt.edu and view your award. (If you still have not received that email, you should by this Friday.) If you have questions about financial aid or scholarships, feel free to call the Office of Financial Aid: 412-624-7488 or email them at finaid@pitt.edu.

@hailtopitt1787 I did not apply for financial aid. Will I still receive that email? On my.pitt.edu, in the campus finances area, there was no information at all for me.
@panthers2019, You must fill out a FAFSA in order to receive financial aid. If you have questions about financial aid and the whole process, please contact the Office of Financial Aid.

@hailtopitt1787 I know that, but my scholarship is a merit scholarship. Is there any other way I can find this scholarship in my account instead of the email. I believe earning a merit scholarship is independent from applying for financial aid.
@panthers2019, that is correct. You should still receive an email by Friday at the latest. You will be able to view your award in my.pitt.edu.

@hailtopitt1787 thanks a lot for your help!
@Panthers2019, I am happy to help!
@panthers2019 Do you ind posting your stats (uw gpa, SAT/ACT scores, and class rank)? I am an upcoming senior and wanted to know what it took to get a full tuition scholarship at pitt. Also, are you IS or OOS?
I can tell you right now that changes ALL THE TIME.
The biggest factor seems to be OOS vs IS in that it is easier for an OOS to get money for Pitt. After that it is a demographics and numbers game- do you have a high SAT/GPA? That puts you in the pool. But what makes you stand out:
–Interesting/unique major choice
–Minority status (i.e. anything not white)
–Gender (ex. female in engineering)
–State you come from (Colorado is a “rarer” state than Ohio, for example)
–Extra Curricular activities/resume
The most anyone can say is that if you have a good GPA (A-average) and good SAT (1350-1400+) you will probably be UHC-eligible and thrown into the scholarship pool. After that it’s any rules go.
@Copperrrrrrrrrrr, I would suggest you look through our page on Academic Scholarships on the Admissions and Financial Aid site: https://oafa.pitt.edu/learn-about-aid/academic-scholarships/

Thank you guys!
@AwesomeOpossum I have a 1500/2250 SAT and am an male Asian from Texas who will probably major in Neuroscience. Extracurriculars are above average but not outstanding. GPA is 3.94uw and 5.50weighted
@Copperrrrrrrrr, My son received a full tuition scholarship and will be a Pitt freshman in the fall. We are OOS (MD). He had a 4.0 uw with about a dozen APs. SAT 1560/2300. White, finance major, varsity sports and a couple other “average” ECs. School doesn’t post rank but he probably would be #1/500.
@Copperrrrrrrrrrr I would say you have a good chance of being thrown into the pool between the high SAT/GPA. The fact that you are Asian and from Texas will really help you. I’d say if you apply early and with a full application (essays, resume of activities, letters of rec) you have a good shot at some money from UHC
Thanks guys. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it
