Which school would be the best option for a pre med student. Pitt, Michigan, Case, or Villanova. Which college sends the highest percentage of students to Medical School? I received the full tuition scholarship for University of Pittsburgh. So should I attend University of Pittsburgh because of this?

Clearly - YES

All four are excellent choices for pre-med. Villanova has the least opportunity for research and volunteering opportunities to pad the med-school application, so I would put them last.

Pitt is ranked 5th in NIH funding (ahead of both Michigan and Case) for academic bioscience and medical research which means undergraduate research opportunities in the biosciences are excellent. Its medical center, one of the largest in the country, is right on campus which is extremely convenient for taking advantage of those opportunities. I’d be really hard pressed to think you’ll be better prepared at Case or Michigan. Ultimately it is about where you feel happiest.

Med School rank in USNews look like this:
Michigan #11
Pitt #13
Case #25

Hospital rankings in USNews look like this:
Cleveland Clinic #4
UPMC #13
Michigan #14

Go to Pitt, you won’t be hurting yourself and you will make medical school choices a lot easier without already having 100k in debt.

I thought you were accepted early to Carnegie Mellon…

Pitt is a good choice, though I would like to add to wgm’s post that Case too has a hospital on campus and the Cleveland Clinic not too far away, but I still think it is not comparable to having the main UPMC branch on campus.

Choose with aspects of both cost and fit in mind.

Completely does not matter where you go, ANY UG will do. it is up to you, not the name of your school. you will understand it much more in your college junior year.

Sorry for the confusion schrizto. This is for my twin sister who asked me to create this thread for her. She decided to turn in her deposit for Pitt today. Thank You for your help MiamiDAP, schrizto, mmmcdowe, wgmcp101.
