Interested in opinions from anyone who has applied to and/or visited both.
These are D20’s top two at this point and it is not an easy decision.
She likes both and loves neither.
Major is nursing. We know all about both nursing schools, not looking for advice about that (IMO Pitt is stronger but UDel is very good too).
She is wondering which will give her a more enjoyable 4 year university experience. She likes to be involved in things (currently theater and music, but might completely try something new in college). She thinks she’s interested in joining a sorority. She is not a partier, not into alcohol etc. I realize these last 2 sentences may present a paradox. She is looking to mix with non-nursing students as much as she can.
We live in Massachusetts. Pitt requires a flight, door to door is about 4 1/2 hours max. Delaware is a 6 hour drive with no stops, more like 7 with traffic and breaks, or a train ride.
She is sick of the Boston area and wants a more spread out and different experience. While Delaware has a larger, more rural-ish campus, it’s in the crowded northeast. Pitt is in a small city but surrounded by a more interesting (to her) rural area.
Waiting for final numbers but it looks like Pitt will be the more expensive, though still affordable, option.
Any input appreciated. I’d like to see her actually get excited but mostly she’s stressed.
