do you know if pitt has mcat requirements?

All you need to do is maintain a 3.7, no MCAT req.

congrats willy

How did you find out early? Did you do really well on the interview?

no i received an email, she said the letter confirming my acceptance would be sent by monday

Thanks studyguy :)

Ms. Wick emailed me, saying that the decsions were going to be mailed today. I don't know why she emailed me, perhaps she emailed everyone who got in? Or maybe not...I have no idea. I wouldn't speculate too much though. Maybe she didn't have someone's email, and so they're only notified through regular mail.

Honesty, I think it was my interview that got me in, because my stats are pretty much on the same level, if not lower, than other applicants. I was surprised about the interview though, because it was only about 15 minutes long. I was basically asked "why medicine" and I elaborated on my ECs a little (mostly my research). I had found out earlier that the program only accepts like 5 students, so I wasn't really counting on getting in in the first place, and so I was pretty relaxed in my interview- figured I had nothing to lose.

Anyway, now I have to choose between Pitt and Miami. Any advice? Hopefully for Pitt they accepted more than 5 students or put them on a waitlist, because it would be a shame to let those seats go to waste if students choose not to go.

Edit:

Just read n33ta05's message-- I guess Ms. Wick did send an email to all accepted. Are you going to go, n33?

Did you get accepted too n33ta05? I'd like to be here just because I live 40 minutes away from the school and have a lot of friends there, but I got into other programs and will probably be attending Rice/Baylor.

yes i did, did you prepare4college?

willyshakes--i'm not sure yet. it's between pitt and GWU. i'm leaning towards gwu just because it's not in pittsburgh, that's pretty mcuh the only advantage, but 18 years in pittsburgh is long enoguh without having to spend 8 more years, but i'm really torn right now...what about you?

I'm trying to decide between Pitt and Miami. I want to go to Miami but I might end up going to Pitt because it would be closer to home, better med school, and cheaper. Miami however seems like a great program, and the students I've spoken with there are very happy. I'm going to try to talk to some students that were accepted into the Pitt program in previous years, just to get some perspective.

so has anyone actually gotten a letter yet? or just the emails?

i recieved my letter yesterday

hey, i'm a junior right now, but I wanted to know more about the pitt program. Can anyone give me a link to the website for the U Pitt Med program? I've tried looking, but no success.

you can try contacting the admissions office to get more info

heres the site with the full explanation:

It is also suggested that you send in your application ASAP, preferrably in October.
