I was just curious if anyone attended their session yet and what exactly we need to bring. I was trying to look at the list of classes but I have NO IDEA what I want to take. I also can't find the list of required classes or anything. Suggestions anyone?

Yeah, I’m in the same boat. My session is at the end of July and I’m doing an overnight. I signed up with a friend of mine from school, but he is going into the engineering school and I am in the School of Arts and Sciences. I’m not really sure how to pick my classes.

Hey guys, I just went to Pittstart today! I would recommend bringing a photo ID, good walking shoes, an umbrella, your Pittstart folder that was mailed to you and something to entertain yourself with if you have to wait awhile for your meeting.
Here is the link to pick out your top 10 classes:

If you’re really lost your individual meeting with your advisor should help!

I’m going to PittStart next Thursday! Did you stay overnight in the dorm? I’m doing that, but I’m a little nervous for that part haha.

I didnt stay overnight because I only live 20 minutes away.

pitt start w/ son just finished. really really well done. son’s “list of ten” was helpful but advisor was wonderful and much was changed! He was so excited after meeting her and we were impressed with the two days. I would suggest the two days as the IT lecture among other w/ good info.

My son went last week and enjoyed it very much. He signed up for Day 1 and Day 2. The first day was the busiest through the evening… about 11 pm. Some ice breaker activities, etc…and seminars as you can read in the agenda. When the day was over, he hung out in the TV lounge that night with other kids and was in bed by 12:30. The boy he roomed with came in at 3:30 am so they didn’t really have a chance to talk much. Day One- he met with the College of Business, about 17 students, in the afternoon. They gave very good advice to him about thinking how to make himself unique/different from other business students in the way of taking certain classes to acheive this. He also found out the score of the on-line writing exam which is to decide which level of English to schedule. Met with his advisor on Day 2. He got a good vibe from her and felt comfortable. I believe most of Day 2 is about advising and making the fall schedule of classes. He got lucky and had the first appointment at 11 am (the appointments run from 11 am to late in the day). We had an almost 5 hour ride home so that helped. They give you a kind of napsack to carry around papers, folders, etc. He brought his bookbag but didn’t need it.

He was very happy there and really is excited about Pitt !

Last year, the appointments were based on how far away you live from Pittsburgh. Although we are out of state, our drive time was less than those who lived in Philly so they had earlier appointment times.

If my son didn’t get an early time I told him to speak to someone there about the duration our ride home but Pitt obviously took care of that !

This is good news about the scheduling. We’re headed there for 10-11 June.
