Pitzer Interview

I will be interviewing at Pitzer in early August, along with doing a tour and info session, and seeing this will be my first admissions interview, I am a bit uneasy and have a couple questions.
What kind of questions will they be asking me?
How formal is it? And what should I wear? (I would usually just do a casual dress, but seeing the temperatures will likely be high, southern California in early august, many of my dresses that I would deem more appropriate for an interview would be way too warm for walking around on a tour for an hour in the late summer heat)
That is actually about it, I had less questions than I thought. Thanks in advance!

Hey! I got admitted to Pitzer for the Fall 2017 semester so I can answer your questions.
They will ask you about your interest in Pitzer. Why did you apply to Pitzer? That is pretty much the most expected question. It is more like a session to talk with a student, so the questions will be about you: what are your hobbies, interest, major(s), etc. They also asked me “If you could create a class at Pitzer combining two subjects that don’t normally go together, what would it be and why?” Something along those lines. Also be knowledgeable about the 5 core values: social responsibility, intercultural understanding, interdisciplinary learning, student engagement, and environmental sustainability. I think I was also asked which core values I identified with most.
It’s pretty informal, but of course it’s still an interview so you wanna dress up semi-formally. I just wore a knee-length dress and some close-toed sandals.
My last piece of advice is not to be nervous. You will most likely be interviewed by a current Pitzer student, so just relax and enjoy the conversation! They’re not trying to intimidate you, they just want to know who you are as a person.
Good luck!

Pitzer is a pretty casual place. Get someone to help you practice interview ahead of time.
